Wilt Chamberlain vs. Shaq

The battle of the LA Centers. Wilt Chamberlain, the 100 point scorer, the most dominating center at that time. Shaq, the Diesel, the most dominating center in the league until he retired. But who is better?

I would take Shaq over Wilt. For only 1 reason too. Not the fact that the game has changed and the opponents from then and now are better. Not the fact that Wilt was the only 7 foot player at that time. I would take Shaq because he has so much weight to him, that Wilt couldn’t stop him.

Shaq was 300 pounds some seasons. His giant bulk made him a monster in the paint and you couldn’t stop him. I’m amazed Shaq wasn’t a better defender, but Shaq was a powerhouse offensively. You couldn’t stop him. Unless he was on the free-throw line, that’s his 1 weakness.

Wilt was a workhorse. Never tired, never sluggish, always playing 100 miles an hour. That was Wilts greatest strength, he was so much more stamina than everyone else. Wilt was fast and big and that’s why he was the best at that time.

But he couldn’t stop Shaq. Nobody today could stop Shaq. Dwight Howard is the best Center now and he wouldn’t be able to stop Shaq. The best Center League history is a perfect Title for Shaq’s career.

wilt played most of career above 280…That’s not a huge advantage..plus he had a 92′ wing span. major length advantage over the diesel.

but i’m saying Shaqs massive size is what would give him the advantage against Wilt. i look at it like offensive linemen in football. the best ones are the ones that are just so massive that its hard to push them out of the way. maybe its not even solely a weight thing. just the width of shaq is much greater than wilt that itll be harder to get him out of the way. i see your point your making
