My favorite part about the HBO hit, Game of Thrones, is that everyone has a legitimate claim to the Iron Throne. After Robert Baratheon died, the obvious claim to the throne would go to his son Joffrey. Even though he was clearly born of incest, he is still technically next in line.
If we take away Joffrey, Robb’s brother Stannis would be the obvious next in line. Another next in line would be Robb’s bastard son Gendry. Even though he was bastard born, he would technically be next in line for the throne.
Daenerys Targaryen also has past claim to the throne, but it was taken away. So she, even though she’s a woman, still has a claim to the throne. I think she is the farthest away from the throne in distance and in right to it, but still is in line.
I guess Robb Stark could eventually be in the mix for the Iron Throne. He is currently waging war against the Lannisters, but after that fight, depending if he wins, then the throne will be vacant. So, if all goes well then Robb would try and take the throne in the end.
Just like I stated above, everyone has claim to the Iron Throne, but there can only be 1 King. I think Gendry is the only one who has the most claim to the throne. Even though he is bastard born, he has Robb’s bloodline in him and thus he is the true king.
